Three Months : A Prelude.

Compromise, accommodate, tolerate...
Alot of people ask me what it takes to love a person.

Funny they should ask me that question, especially when there are hardly anyone I know who has been in more relationships then me.

But the reason they ask me is because, in every relationship, I'd pour every single thing I have into it... To the point of obscene foolishness...

Love is blind... isn't it?

Nah... Like what I said a long, long time ago... Love isn't blind. It just closes one eye and stares away with the other...

I was at the gym today, when I met a very, very old friend... Over the years, he lost all faith in relationships, not wanting to ever get his heart broken again, and again...

After helping him spot a couple of presses, and talking to him about my past relationship and current one, i realized that he was crying... (yes, while doing the presses. ironic, isn't it.)

He became very quiet after he finished his set, and he set up and looked me straight in the eye and said, "I hate your boyfriend."

I understood, but I was stunned. It was a seemingly random statement coming from true anger.

.. or rather, anger at his own life...

I quietly proceeded to help him replace the weight bearings.

"I hate him because he'll hurt you again, like how the rest hurt us. I hate him because he'll never truly understand how much to value you, because he's never been in so many countless broken aj relationships."

"And what you propose I do?"

"Nothing, its my fault that I was in a stupid relationship when you were single anyway."

... I proceeded to turn red.

He was my senior, when I was in the Brigade, and I respected him a hell lot.

Not only because of his flare for leadership, but his unwavering trust in his friends.

His eyes told a different story now....

somehow, somewhere, over the course of time... people came and tore out big and small chunks of his heart, till it became irreparably scarred...

I felt like hugging him, but I didn't want to give him to false hope that I would ever defect to him... And it would only shatter his already broken ego.

How many relationships have I seen broken? How many have I seen brought together just to be torn apart again?

Just because I'm different, doesn't mean the rest are the different too...

Love, Loyalty, Trust, Honesty, Openness, Sincerity, Patience, Compromise, Accommodate, Tolerate, Care, Concern, Stability, Encouragement, Courage, Endurance, Intimacy...

All these are the key factors in a relationship... without one, it will fail, without saying..

Three months.

Hey dear, its been three months already, since I asked you to be my boyfriend...

I'll still hold true to the words I said, and always will...

With all the above, and more...

be my boyfriend
be my love,
be my heart
and my tears
Cause agony never new such sweet pain
as to admonish love as to receive
for now
for ever,
a hand to hold, a shoulder to cry
a heart to carry and a strong arm to rely on...

I will be your everything.
As you will be mine....

A man went to a barbershop to have his hair cut and his beard trimmed.
As the barber started to work, they began to have a good conversation.
They talked about so many things on various subjects.

When they eventually touched on the subject of God, the barber said: "I don't believe that God exists."

"Why do you say that?" asked the customer.

"Well, you just have to go out in the streets to realise that God doesn't exist. Tell me, if God exists, would there be so many sick people? Would there be abandoned children? If God exists, there would be neither suffering nor pain. I can't imagine a loving God who would allow all of these things."

The customer thought for a moment, but didn't respond because he didn't want to start an argument.

The barber finished his job and the customer left the shop.

Just after he left the barbershop, he saw a man in the street with long, stringy, dirty hair and an untrimmed beard.

He looked dirty and unkempt.

The customer turned back and entered the barber shop again and he said to the barber: "You know what? Barbers do not exist."

"How can you say that?" asked the surprised barber. "I am here, and I am a barber. And I just worked on you!"

"No!" the customer exclaimed, "barbers don't exist because if they did, there would be no people with dirty, long hair and untrimmed beards, like that man outside."

"Ah, but barbers DO exist! That's what happens when people do not come to me."

"Exactly!" affirmed the customer, "that's the point! God, too, DOES exist! That's what happens when people do not go to Him and don't look to Him for help. That's why there's so much pain and suffering in the world."

qUizzzyy!

1. How are you feeling today?
I'm feeling bored like hell, and shitty too. There isn't any motivation for me to go out or do something really productive.

2. Where did you go yesterday?
Went out with my dear to watch a movie

3. Who do you miss badly?
Alvin. Seriously, he keeps plaguing my mind. ~*grins*~ quite sad, but enough to keep my mind preoccupied for about 30 mins before fazing out.

4. What are you doing now?
uhh. This quiz? Oh... and... nothing. Can you actually believe that?

5. Honestly, are you a racist?
Ow... Hmm... I'm not honest, I'm not racist.
But seriously, there are some people who really offended me in the past... but bygones be bygones, lets all spray baygon at those that would discriminate.

6. Do you like rock/hardcore music?
nope. disrupt my karma, peace and equilibrium in my intestines. ROFL

7. What's your hobby?
Hmm. I'm a hardcore gymmer and swimmer. err. Also researching different calories on the net. heh. Seriously, I've got nothing better to do nowadays.

8. Where do you wanna go right now?
Umm... Botanical gardens to run. But I'm just seriously lazy to just take a bus all the way there.

9. What do you see in life?
I see life as a massive competition. Its a race where you get ahead of others or you get dragged behind. We all have infinite potential,

10. If you could do anything that's without punishment, what would you do?
... that never did cross my mind before you know... being a very "rules" person... but.. umm... I guess I'd try and rob a bank. *grins*

11. Do you follow the law?
Eh. I follow most laws, except one which tends to flare up at my face ever so often. Don't bother asking me about it.

12. Are you considered as a happy person?
To a certain extent yes... I really have to get my body into tip-top condition though..

13. Where are your parents?
hmm.. They just came back. And my mum was like staring at my computer screen.... o_O

14. Do you smoke alot?
NO. I don't smoke. I hate smoking, and I will N-E-V-E-R smoke. Thats of course unless they made a scientific discovery that states that smoking is a actually good for health.

15. Do you drink alot?
NO. Again. I hate alcohol. Don't care about that bullcrap that wine is good for your health because it thins the blood. I still hate it. Anything that meddles with my brain is meddling with ME! ~ and of course, you won't want that... heh.

16. What do you think about cats/kittens?
bleah. girly stuff. Cats are not good investments because they'll run away sooner or later, they scratch your furniture and make purring noises only when they're happy or want you to make them happy.

17. Do you still watch Barney?
Barney is scary. Seriously. Have you seen him say "oooh. We've got a letter! it reads, 'Dear Barney. My mum died, I'm very sad now, please help'"
.. and Barney goes with a big white grin smack across his face, "I'm very sorry! Death is something we all don't like to see, do we kids? Now everybody hold hands and sing 'I love you, you love me 100,000,000 times."

18. Anyone who has inspired you in any ways?
3 people in my life

1) Desmond Chin - Ironically, when he ignored me in primary school, he made me realize one thing, that lying isn't a solution, and it can only developed into more lies. I guess.. even now I won't be able to say sorry properly to him again.

2) Quek Chong Loon - Only got to know him really well in my last year in secondary school, but he inspired me to really work hard. We both convinced each other that working hard in the only solution out of the mess we were in, and... yah, we blew the rooftops of the school.

3) Timothy Foo - Best friend in poly. Heh. He is a living testimony to what an iron spirit is. Even when his family was hit with a crisis, he never gave up and continued to score fantastical results for his examinations. But above all, he was a strong Christian who carried me through alot of dark times in my life.

19. Do you like being in school?
Hmm... Yah. *grins*

20. Are you anti-social?
I don't think I could really be one. Doesn't help me or my future to be so yah? Impractical.

21. Do you trust your friends easily?
I don't trust people easily, but I normally let people believe that I trust them easily. (haha. Betcha don't even know what I wrote.)

22. Ever betrayed the person you cared the most?
I did, once or twice, in a pique of rage or jealousy. But if ever I did, it was only because I truly cared...

23. What's on your mind right now?
What should I do tomorrow... Its getting quite repetitive...

24. Rain, sun or windy?
Sun + Wind! pls pls pls... I do not need a flock of clouds, a few sparse clouds will do. But pleassee.. no rain already!

25. Are you in love?
No. I'm not in love.
I'm in abject tyranny, I'm being forced to...

*whimper*

heh heh.. just kidding... Love my dearie lots...

26. What's your sibling doing?
Who knows what he's doing. He could be doing ANYTHING. seriously. not as though i'd wanna care like that.

27. Ever been to a dog show?
YEAH! Ever hugged a Golden Retriever? Now THAT's the type of companion a guy needs.

28. Do you eat pork?
Yah. All the time. Don't really like it though, coz it has higher fat content that most other meat.
65% higher then chicken meat
11% higher then beef meat

29. Ever gotten Dengue Fever?
no no... err.. please no?

30. If you can have 1 super power, what would it be?
Teleportation. Unlimited teleportation, haha... it would be so damm cool wouldn't it.
I could like teleport into the guy's locker room when they're changing... and...

err... *cough* nvm...

31. Where do you study? And do you like it?
Finished studying poly. Came out with relatively decent grades... Hope I can study Economics in University....

32. Anything that's bothering you right now?
Yah.. Why can't I see my abs, but I can feel it?. its like so irritating lah... there's one layer of fat that's co..... -

33. Ocean, sea, river or swimming pool?
River would be fun! A river with a beach would be funner! The funnest would be a blue lagoon with white sands, fluffy clouds, bright sunshine and fishes swimming all around the shallows! *dreamy*

34. Have you ever been to UK?
Doesn't really interest me except that I might get to play with Buckingham Palace's Beefeaters's mustaches...

35. What surprises you?
Lots of stuff... umm... I like positive surprises though... but I really, really HATE negative surprises.. (i.e. "oh Andrew! I was late because I wanted to surprise you! surprise!!! - WTF??")

36. What time is it now?
10:55 PM

37. Are you home-sick?
I'm AT HOME.

38. Do you wanna go out and shop?
Kinda.. I need to buy some running shorts.....

39. What do you hate the most?
I hate losing... I find it hard to get over losing... And it can affect me for a long time too... And, don't tell me to take it with a pinch of salt. The wound is painful enough as it is...

40. Remember the past?
Hmm... most of it... yah... but I pretty much live a half-life-dreary-who-knows-where-I-am type of life...

lol... xD

I'm seriously bored. When Andrew starts doing quizzes, its a sure sign he's bored... so a

Ineffectual Assimilation.

sometimes, I wish some rules on earth didn't exist...
but it just does...

such as how the government increases GST by 2%, and subsequently increases property taxes as well..

how chewing gum (was) banned and "no eating on the MRT"...

Some of these rules have visible effects, (i.e. our MRT is one of the cleanest transports in the world), but others are virtually incomprehensible...

what people do not understand might be good for them, like how I hated the "no eating on the MRT" rule, and found that it had a meaningless existence - in primary school.

subsequently I became partially grateful - (I still want to eat my breakfast on the train yah!)

Rules are rules, generally for the betterment of mankind, so... the bible is a book of rules.

What we do not understand doesn't mean its wrong.

Like why Jesus has to die for us - (why is a sacrifice even necessary in the first place?)
Like why God and Men are always separated - (if God is almighty, is the seperation necessary in the first place?)
Like why God loves us and would watch us go to hell.

There are lots of stuff we may not understand, and rules within rules within rules...

4 + 4 = 8
means
2 + 2 = 4
means
1 + 1 = 2

all these are fundamental rules, but we can break them down infinitely, and we'll still never see the logic within them..

Earth has day and night
means
Earth moves round the sun
means
Gravitational fields demand that the Earth move in circles round the sun
means
Day and night is directly correlated by gravitational fields
means
... why does gravitational field cause circles? which causes day and night?
... why does the mathematical law cause it to move in circles?

it all boils down to why 1 + 1 = 2.

and so on and so forth.

Law is Law.
Humans do not define natural law, and supernatural law.
Laws will always be there, like it or not.

It is not affected by time, culture, tradition, root or location. And it is standard truth throughout the world.

Law = Truth.
Truth = Law.

Two truths that do not correlate to each other, means that only one is correct, or both are wrong.

Christianity can never be classified into the new-aged dictum of "All Religions Are One", because of the fundamental truths that prevails throughout it

1) "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me"
(John 14:6)

2)"I am the LORD, and there is no other; Besides Me there is no God. I will gird you, though you have not known Me; That men may know from the rising to the setting of the sun That there is no one besides Me.I am the LORD, and there is no other,"
(Isaiah 45:5-6)

both are words spoken by God, in the bible. And thus, by saying otherwise, God would be lying. And Christianity shouldn't even exist in the first place.

But since its Truth, by all reliable Christian/Catholic context, then it can only clash with any other religion saying otherwise.

Thus, I conclude my stand that Christianity is a singular religion that stands on its own, unable to be assimilated into any other religions without compromising the truths that make the fundamentals of Christianity.
